Need an iPhone app for Pharmacokinetics?
Just released! PK Curve for the iPhone or iPod Touch!

The PK Curve app is your FREE pharmacokinetic resource for your iPhone or iPod Touch!

Overview

Select the route of administration, number of compartments, and input profile and PK Curve will calculate the Cmax, AUC and t1/2. PK Curve will draw the concentration-time profile using both a linear and logarithmic y-axis. Save the PK Curve and email the settings, parameters, and both the linear and logarithmic graphs to yourself or a colleague. Great for students, industry scientists, consultants, and anyone interested in pharmacy or pharmaceutical sciences. The app is free and can be downloaded from the iTunes app store.

Model Selection

Model selection screen where 8 different models can be selected. Choose from IV or Oral administration, 1 or 2 compartments, and bolus, zero-order and 1st-order input.

Inputs

Based on the model selected, you will be presented with the appropriate input parameters to generate the PK Curve. You can enter rate constant parameters or clearance parameters.

Parameters

After you provide the input values, the PK parameters AUC, Cmax and half life (t1/2) are presented along with the concentration-time data.

Linear Graph

The concentration-time curve is presented using a Linear Y-axis scale.

Log Graph

The concentration-time curve is also presented using a logarithmic Y-axis scale.

Saved Curves

You can save your PK Curve for future reference. Select your own name or use the automated naming function. Saved data includes the model selection, input values, parameter estimates, and both the linear and logarithmic graphs.

Email

Do you need to share your PK Curve with a colleague or your boss? From the history tab, select your saved PK Curve and press the Email button. A copy of all information is sent in email form with attached images for the linear and logarithmic curves. PK Curve makes it easy to share with others!

Blog

You will also find a link to the Learn PK/PD blog with a wealth of information on pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Review the most recent postings and comment directly from your app!
